Dear friends,
Today I met a gentleman who had superannuated from service almost 5 years back. As we sat to talk he revealed that he has booked an apartment in Kondli. I promptly asked him reply and pat came the reply 'for investment'. I looked at him and once again the thought emerged 'when to stop investing'.
There could be many more such examples. At times I see fragile old people haggling on the bank counters or post offices for the interest rates of their fixed deposits. The question is will they ever use this so-called hard earned money on themselves.
What happens to our present? Are we all in the race for creating a brighter future for ourselves? Or is its in our DNA that somehow we are unable to control our urge to invest.
Imagine a scenario where we just stop investing at some pre-decided age and start relishing our today. Will we ever do this?
Isn't it complex that having known all this, yet we choose to compromise our present for a brighter tomorrow and the cycle goes on. And as they say, tomorrow never comes !!

Considering the increased lifespan, you have to beat the inflation rate every year for the next 30+ years after retirement. Makes sense to invest to be able to live a similar or better lifestyle after retirement. I agree that we should not forget to enjoy our today in the hope of a better future when health might not let us climb the hills :)
